The RBC GranFondo Whistler cycling event from downtown Vancouver to Whistler will take place on Saturday, September 12. Traffic modifications will be in effect for customers travelling through the Horseshoe Bay terminal before 9:30 am on that day.

Customers planning to travel on sailings departing Horseshoe Bay on the morning of Saturday, September 12, please note that Westbound Highway 1 and northbound Highway 99 traffic will be rerouted via Exit 2 to Old Highway 99, also known as Horseshoe Bay Drive, and will re-enter northbound Highway 99 at Pasco Road.

The detour will be in effect from 5:30 am to 10:30 am. We suggest customers allow enough travel time to arrive at the terminal before the scheduled sailing of their choice.

For customers travelling on sailings that arrive at Horseshoe Bay terminal before 9:00 am on September 12, traffic leaving Horseshoe Bay will be rerouted to Marine Drive through West Vancouver from 5:30 am to 9:00 am.

Eastbound heavy trucks travelling between Horseshoe Bay, Taylor Way, and southbound Highway 99 will be redirected to a temporary holding area in Horseshoe Bay from 5:30 am to 9:00 am.

Heavy trucks will not be permitted on Marine Drive through West Vancouver during this period and may re-enter Highway 1 after the eastbound lanes reopen.

Valid for one-way travel in either direction between:

  • Vancouver (Tsawwassen) – Victoria (Swartz Bay)
  • Vancouver (Tsawwassen) – Nanaimo (Duke Point)
  • Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) – Nanaimo (Departure Bay)
  • NEW Powell River (Westview) – Comox (Little River)

And for return travel from:

  • Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) – Langdale (Sunshine Coast)

Booking a Saver fare

  • From now until December 31, 2026, Saver fares have been added on ALL Wednesday sailings on the above routes
  • Book online in advance to secure your spot
  • Saver fares have limited availability and will appear in the sailing selection screen if available 
  • Saver fares are not valid for thru fare travel 

Changing or cancelling a Saver fare

  • Make changes to your Saver booking four days or more before travel for a $5 change fee (plus price difference, if applicable) 
  • You can cancel a Saver booking three days or less up to one hour before departure for a $20 cancellation fee
  • Unredeemed bookings will be refunded less a $30 fee
  • Foot passengers: Free to change up to two hours before booked departure. Pay any difference in price (if applicable). Cancel up to 11:59 pm the day before for a full refund. No refunds on day of departure

Arrive early or miss your sailing?

  • You can use your Saver fare towards travel on a different sailing on the same route, on the same day by paying the difference in price.
  • You will be boarded after reserved customers in the order you arrive on the next available sailing, based on space availability

*Fare shown is in Canadian dollars and based on one standard under-height vehicle and driver travelling one-way on any of the following routes: Vancouver (Tsawwassen) - Victoria (Swartz Bay), Vancouver (Tsawwassen) - Nanaimo (Duke Point) or Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) - Nanaimo (Departure Bay). Saver fare prices will range from $49.00 - $99.00 for a standard under-height vehicle and driver. Fare listed does not include fuel rebates, Port Authority fees, or surcharges.
