The RBC GranFondo Whistler cycling event from downtown Vancouver to Whistler will take place on Saturday, September 12. Traffic modifications will be in effect for customers travelling through the Horseshoe Bay terminal before 9:30 am on that day.
Customers planning to travel on sailings departing Horseshoe Bay on the morning of Saturday, September 12, please note that Westbound Highway 1 and northbound Highway 99 traffic will be rerouted via Exit 2 to Old Highway 99, also known as Horseshoe Bay Drive, and will re-enter northbound Highway 99 at Pasco Road.
The detour will be in effect from 5:30 am to 10:30 am. We suggest customers allow enough travel time to arrive at the terminal before the scheduled sailing of their choice.
For customers travelling on sailings that arrive at Horseshoe Bay terminal before 9:00 am on September 12, traffic leaving Horseshoe Bay will be rerouted to Marine Drive through West Vancouver from 5:30 am to 9:00 am.
Eastbound heavy trucks travelling between Horseshoe Bay, Taylor Way, and southbound Highway 99 will be redirected to a temporary holding area in Horseshoe Bay from 5:30 am to 9:00 am.
Heavy trucks will not be permitted on Marine Drive through West Vancouver during this period and may re-enter Highway 1 after the eastbound lanes reopen.

What you need to redeem your booking
When you arrive at the terminal, provide the ticket agent at the foot passenger booth with your booking reference number or the phone number on your booking. You will need government-approved photo ID for proof of age as applicable (e.g. BC Seniors). Check in no later than 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure.
Boarding assistance
If you have requested boarding assistance, please arrive at least 60 minutes before the scheduled sailing to allow us enough time to get you comfortably on board. Please check in any large baggage when you arrive at the terminal.
Booking cancellations and changes to ferry travel
Prepaid: Full payment at time of booking. Change booking up to two hours before booked sailing. Cancel booking up to 11:59 pm the day before departure for a full refund. No refunds on day of departure.
Sailing cancellations
If you check-in at the terminal and the sailing is then cancelled, we will make every effort to load you on the next available sailing where space is available.
Customers with a booking on the next scheduled departure will be loaded in advance of customers from the cancelled sailing. If we are unable to load you on the next available sailing, you will be loaded in order of arrival at the terminal.
If you choose not to travel, your fares will automatically refund to your original form of payment. We will also refund any changes made at check-in, which a ticket agent must process at the terminal. View more information about sailing cancellations.

BC Ferries has a zero tolerance policy for passengers under the influence of drugs or alcohol and any unacceptable conduct that can be associated with impairment. The consumption of drugs and alcohol on BC Ferries’ vessels and at its terminals is prohibited. We all deserve to feel safe and respected—violence and foul language will not be tolerated and may result in denial of service.

- Change booked sailing time and/or date: No charge, changes may be made up to two hours in advance of the booked sailing, for sailings still open for advance sales.
- Change booking to travel with a vehicle: If you have a foot passenger booking and want to change it to travel with a vehicle, you can change your booking online to include a vehicle* by accessing your BC Ferries account or from the link in your booking confirmation email. Your Prepaid foot passenger booking amount will be applied towards your new vehicle booking, based on the fare type you select.
- Change passenger up to 11:59 pm the day before booked sailing: Pay or receive refund for any price difference.
- Change passenger type at check-in: No refunds.
- Cancel booking up to 11:59 pm the day before booked sailing: Full refund.
- Cancel booking on day of booked sailing: No refunds.
- Unredeemed booking: No refunds.
