About BC Ferries

Terminal Development Planning

There is a 20 minute ferry service between Skidegate on Graham Island and Alliford Bay on Moresby Island, the two main islands of Haida Gwaii.  The terminal is an important link for the surrounding communities as it provides the Moresby Island community access to important amenities on Graham Island. In addition, the terminal is also a gateway into Haida Gwaii for tourists arriving from the Sandspit Airport, and is the berth for the arriving ferry from Prince Rupert.

The scope of the Skidegate TDP involves planning, conceptual options design, and the development of an implementation schedule and budget estimates for future terminal upgrades.

Engaging with the Community

In November 2017, we engaged with the community and key stakeholders to gather feedback, suggestions and ideas that will help shape the design of the new terminal. This included a community info session and an online survey. Learn more about the key issues and opportunities for Skidegate.
