Enjoy seven nights at the Haida House at Tllaal and relax along the banks of the serene Tlell River. Find sandy dunes, ancient rainforests and breathtaking beach views steps away from the lodge and enjoy daily meals prepared by the lodge's chef. Then drive to the northern tip of the island and unwind by the ocean with a one night stay at Masset.

DAY 1

Prince Rupert to Tlell via Skidegate 

Get ready for an exciting week ahead, as you embark on a seven-hour voyage across the Hecate Strait to Haida Gwaii. Watch for coastal wildlife on your journey across, and as you approach Skidegate. Drive north along the coast until you reach Tlell, and check in to your lodge to enjoy a unique welcoming dinner.

DAY 2

Tlell

Start your day with a private tour of the award-winning Kay Llnagaay Heritage Centre and Museum and learn about Haida Gwaii’s rich history. Afterwards, see master artists at work when you visit the studios and carving sheds of famed Haida artisans. Finish the day with an authentic and traditional Haida dining experience at the lodge.

DAY 3

Skedans

Spend a full day on a marine expedition to Ḵ’uuna Llnagaay (Skedans). Sail in a zodiac vessel to an ancient village site and see more than 50 monumental totem poles outside the boundaries of Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve. Learn what the poles represent and explore the area to see how the people lived.

DAY 4

Port Clements 

Start the day with an adventure exploring Tlell on a Magical History Tour, and enjoy learning about the area's rich ecology, or learn from a master Haida weaver and participate in a private weaving class. Afterwards, visit the quaint village of Gamadiis Port Clements and embark on a spiritual forest walk to the viewpoint of the historic Golden Spruce.

DAY 5

Haida Gwaii 

Spend a full day with your choice of a trip to:

Yaagun Gandlee (Yakoun River Tour):
Embark on a kayaking excursion at the base of Gaw Kaahlii (Masset Inlet) to the mouth of the magical Yaagun Gandlee (Yakoun River).

Juskatla Estuary Tour:
Depart on an exciting backroad 4x4 expedition through the Juskatla Estuary region, where you’ll visit ancient cultural artifacts at their site of discovery.

DAY 6

Naikoon Provincial Park

After a hearty breakfast, visit the majestic Naikoon Provincial Park and hike to the top of Tow Hill for sweeping views of North Beach and the distant Alaskan islands. After a picnic lunch at Agate Beach, discover the carved pole at Hiellen Village and explore local galleries and boutiques in the area.

DAY 7

Old Massett

Discover the northern tip of the island today with a day trip to Gaw (Masset) and Gaw Tlagee (Old Massett). While you explore the villages, enjoy a narrative tour of the village’s storied totems. Spend your final night feasting on a grand Haida spread prepared by the lodge's chef.

DAY 8

Tlell to Masset

After a hearty farewell breakfast, make your way towards the northern tip of Graham Island to the beautiful village of Masset. Go on a surfing or kayaking adventure by the ocean or explore the village on foot and enjoy a self-guided history tour through the village to see several heritage buildings that date back to the 1900's.

DAY 8

Masset to Prince Rupert via Skidegate

Start your morning with a peaceful waterfront stroll and take in the breathtaking ocean views. Then drive towards Skidegate to catch your return sailing to Prince Rupert.
