Adverse Weather Warning - High Winds - May 18, 2022
Environment Canada has issued a wind warning about a weather system that may impact our service today, Wednesday, May 18. The warning is in effect for:
- East Vancouver Island
- Greater Victoria
- Sunshine Coast
- Howe Sound
- Metro Vancouver
- Southern Gulf Islands
Strong southeasterly winds of 40-60 km/h over the mainland coast and southeasterly up to 60-80 km/h for parts of Vancouver Island are expected Wednesday morning. Winds will switch to gusty south westerlies of 40-70 km/h late Wednesday morning or as the cold front passes. The strongest southwesterly winds are expected over parts of East Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands and Victoria Wednesday afternoon and may gust to 80 km/h.
