BC Ferries supports emergency first responders mourning fallen Burnaby RCMP member


VICTORIA – BC Ferries is offering complimentary vehicle and passenger travel for all Emergency First Responders attending Cst. Shaelyn Yang’s regimental funeral service on November 2. Burnaby RCMP’s Cst. Yang was tragically killed while on duty on October 18. Please visit Burnaby RCMP for full details of the ceremony.

“We want to show our support and appreciation for all officers and first responders in B.C. who work incredibly hard to keep our communities safe,” said Corrine Storey, BC Ferries’ Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. “We work closely with all police services in B.C. through our terminals and vessels. This is a small gesture to show we are thankful for their service.”

Complimentary travel for Emergency First Responders is valid on any BC Ferries route for those travelling to and from the regimental funeral service on November 1, 2, 3.
