BC Ferries introduces mobile point of sale at Langdale

VICTORIA – BC Ferries is rolling out mobile point of sale at Langdale terminal to improve the check in process for our customers and provide operational flexibility during busy travel periods.

There are occasions at the major terminals where booth throughput is unable to meet the demand of arriving traffic causing traffic to backup beyond the pre-ticketing areas. The mobile point of sale will provide terminal staff an additional option to check-in customers, which will speed up the check-in process overall.

The mobile point of sale will be used when traffic levels are high. Customers are asked to follow directions of staff when the devices are in use. When traffic volumes are low, the mobile point of sale will not be necessary and traffic will be processed through the booths in the usual manner.

BC Ferries currently uses mobile point of sale at Heriot Bay on Quadra Island, Gravelly Bay on Denman Island and Lyall Harbour on Saturna Island. BC Ferries will roll out mobile point of sale at Horseshoe Bay, Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay later this summer.
