BC Ferries invests in non-profit groups and community organizations with the intention to generate a beneficial social and environmental impact. BC Ferries engages coastal communities and employees to identify community and social investment opportunities that fall in one of three categories:
  • Environmental Education
  • Health and Sport
  • Vibrant Communities
Depending on the initiative, BC Ferries may:
  • Provide in-kind travel
  • Partner with non-profit organizations on the delivery of programs and services
  • Encourage employees to volunteer and participate

Environmental Education

We operate in one of the most beautiful places on earth and are dedicated to preserving it for generations to come. As a major marine operator along coastal British Columbia, BC Ferries recognizes and accepts the responsibility to provide ferry services in the safest, most efficient and environmentally responsible and sustainable manner possible. We provide and support environmental education -- on our ferries and in local communities.

Health and sport
BC Ferries believes in the long-term positive impact sports has on young people’s health and wellbeing. BC Ferries provides in-kind travel for the following Health and Sport initiatives:
  • ViaSport: Athletes are eligible to apply to viaSport for BC Ferries passage when travelling to competitions leading to a provincial championship event, and Provincial and National Championships. Apply now.

BC Ferries is a driver of the provincial economy and understands the importance of connecting communities to initiatives that encourage travel and economic development.
