Snug Cove Schedule Changes
and Berth Closures
January 8 – March, 2024
As part of our commitment to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our terminal facilities, BC Ferries will be completing a terminal life extension project at Snug Cove to maintain safe and reliable operations on this critical route.
BC Ferries is making every effort to minimize disruption of service through this time, with most of the work planned to occur overnight. However, a modified schedule and three berth closures will be required over the course of the project to enable construction work to be completed.
Sailing schedules will be amended Tuesday - Sunday, with no change to Monday’s schedule. The modified schedules can be found here and on the BC Ferries App. **Please note, on Family day long weekend and Easter Long Weekend, water taxi service will be unavailable. The vessel that normally services our Horseshoe Bay - Bowen Island route will operate on the regular schedule during that time.
Full berth closures are scheduled on:
• Saturday, March 9
The company is asking customers to plan ahead for their travel during this time and is supporting customers during cancellations and closures with water taxis, shuttle bus service on Bowen Island, and discounted/ complimentary parking in Horseshoe Bay.
More information on mitigation plans will be available shortly, and will be communicated via Service Notice, on the project page (URL below), at the terminal and on the vessel.
Schedule adjustments have been decided with input from the community, and are designed to minimize impact on regular travel patterns as much as possible. Weekend days were selected for full berth closures to minimize the impact on commuters, businesses and school children.
To find out more and sign up for project updates, visit the Snug Cove Terminal Project page at www.bcferriesprojects.ca/snug-cove-tp.
Service Notices will be updated, as required, to inform of any changes to this scheduled work.
