Service notice - Revised Schedule - Langdale Berth Closure - October 3 - 4
Posted: Thursday, September 07, 2023
Issued on: September 7, 2023
Temporary Schedule for Langdale Route
Langdale Berth 1 Closure
October 3 - 4, 2023
As part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safe operation of our terminal facilities, BC Ferries will temporarily be closing the primary berth at Langdale (Sunshine Coast) terminal on October 3 and 4 for lower ramp and dock work.
This work will include the use of equipment that may increase the normal sound levels around the terminal at night starting Monday, October 2 through the morning of Thursday, October 5 and will be occurring 24 hours a day for the duration of the project. BC Ferries will work closely with the contractor to minimize the noise for our neighbors.
As a result of the berth closure, the Langdale (Sunshine Coast) - Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) service will operate out of the second berth, which allows for single-deck vehicle loading and unloading only. In order to protect vehicle capacity, two vessels will operate hourly between both terminals while passenger capacity will increase overall. Every sailing is reservable and customers are encouraged to book.
To accommodate two-ship operation, the Queen of Oak Bay will be temporarily moved from its Departure Bay (Nanaimo) – Horseshoe Bay (Vancouver) duties and will join the Queen of Surrey to provide main deck loading service for Horseshoe Bay – Langdale customers.
Sailings are approximately 40 minutes with the two-ship service operating on the following schedule on October 3 and 4 only:
