Service notice - Denman Island East Shoreline Stabilization - Gravelly Bay Terminal - August - September, 2023
Posted: Friday, June 16, 2023
Re-issued on August 1:
BC Ferries will be completing remediation work to stabilize 70 meters of the shoreline on the west side of the Denman East Terminal to protect and maintain the safe operation of the foreshore facilities. Construction is anticipated to begin mid-August through mid-September, and is unrelated to the Terminal Compound Expansion Project that was to take place earlier this year.
There will be no impact to operations or traffic patterns as this project will be completed during the day, with no lane closures and in accordance with all applicable regulations and bylaws of the Islands Trust and Comox Valley Regional District.
This work will include the use of equipment that may increase the normal sound levels around the terminal, and BC Ferries will work closely with the contractors to minimize the noise for our neighbors.
We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary work may cause. BC Ferries would like to thank its customers and neighbours for their patience and understanding as we work to complete this project.
