Issued on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 9:40 am:
The Queen of Cumberland has been removed from service on our Swartz Bay (Victoria) - Southern Gulf Islands route from February 1 – March 31, 2023 in order to provide service on the Earls Cove – Saltery Bay route while the Malaspina Sky undergoes a maintenance refit. During this time, the Salish Heron will provide service on the Swartz Bay – Southern Gulf Islands route.
Passenger amenities on board Salish Heron include: a Coastal Café, Passages Gift Shop, comfortable lounge seating with panoramic views, spacious outdoor seating on an open sundeck, pet area, elevators, and an upper and lower vehicle car deck.
Customers should be aware that the lower vehicle deck on the Salish Heron is a closed vehicle deck and Transport Canada regulations require all passengers to vacate closed vehicle decks during sailings.
BC Ferries would like to thank its customers for their patience and look forward to the Queen of Cumberland returning to service on April 1, 2023.
