Learn the basics of surfing with a guided beginner group lesson on Tofino’s iconic beaches. This 3‑hour experience is designed for first‑time surfers and those looking to build confidence in the water, with certified instructors providing step‑by‑step instruction in a supportive group setting.

Lessons begin with an introduction to ocean safety, surf etiquette, paddling, and standing techniques, followed by plenty of time in the water practicing your new skills. All required equipment is included, allowing you to focus on enjoying the experience and making the most of your time on the waves.

Tofino Surf Adventures Surf Lesson are available from March 1 to November 30, 2026.

Guests are advised to contact Tofino Surf Adventures at 250-725-3119 to confirm their lesson 24 to 48 hours prior to their scheduled start date.

Check-in location: 511 Campbell Street, unit 100, Tofino, BC V0R 2Z0

Guests must arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled lesson for check‑in. Parking is available behind the shop. Guests will change into wetsuits at check‑in and then drive themselves to the beach. All surfboards and accessories are transported for guests. Transportation to the beach is not provided. 

Equipment included: Surfboard, wetsuit, and all required accessories are provided.

Lessons are three hours in length, with approximately two to two and a half hours spent in the water.

Participants must be 12 years of age or older.

Same-day bookings are not available through BC Ferries. Lessons must be booked a minimum 24 hours in advance.
