Busy weekend expected (Thursday, July 28 - Monday, August 1)

This will be a busy weekend for travel starting Thursday, July 28 through Monday, August 1. We strongly recommend you book in advance to avoid sailing waits.

We expect high temperatures all weekend. If you plan to travel with a pet, bring plenty of water for you, your pet, and any other travel companions.

If you plan to travel on the following routes this weekend, you should book in advance:
Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) - Nanaimo (Departure Bay)
Vancouver (Tsawwassen) - Nanaimo (Duke Point)
Vancouver (Tsawwassen) - Victoria (Swartz Bay)
Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) - Sunshine Coast (Langdale)

If you are planning to travel without a booking, arrive at the terminal as early as possible and be prepared for sailing waits and hot weather conditions.

Heading to Vancouver Island:
We expect sailings from Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Victoria (Swartz Bay), Vancouver (Tsawwassen) to Nanaimo (Duke Point) and Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) to Nanaimo (Departure Bay) to be especially busy Thursday evening, all day Friday, and on Saturday morning.

If you are planning to travel on these routes without a booking and want to avoid sailing waits, consider travelling on the morning of Thursday, July 28, the afternoon of Saturday, July 30, or the morning of Sunday, July 31.

Heading to the Sunshine Coast:
Sailings from Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) to the Sunshine Coast (Langdale) are expected to be especially busy all day Thursday and on Friday morning. It is recommended that customers travel the evening of Friday, July 29, or throughout Saturday, July 30.

Heading to the Mainland:
We expect sailings from Nanaimo (Duke Point), Nanaimo (Departure Bay), Victoria (Swartz Bay) and the Sunshine Coast (Langdale) to be very busy on Thursday evening, all day Friday, and all day Monday. We recommend you travel in the morning on Saturday, July 30, or the morning of Tuesday, August 2 to avoid sailing waits.

Foot Passengers:
Foot passengers should expect to see sailing waits on the above mentioned routes, particularly between Vancouver (Horseshoe Bay) – Nanaimo (Departure Bay), as we may reach foot passenger capacity at peak travel times. To avoid a walk-on passenger sailing wait, we encourage you to book a reservation in advance.
