July 25, 29 and August 7, 2024
Patricia Bay Highway (Hwy 17) between Victoria and Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island will be temporarily closed from Tanner Road to Island View Road due to the Keating Cross Road Overpass Project during the noted times on the following dates:

Customers looking to travel to or from Swartz Bay terminal during closure times will be impacted and should plan their travel accordingly. A detour will be in effect via Central Saanich Road. Customers should be prepared for a 15-20 minute delay as a result.

Introducing our Virtual Waiting Room
We are introducing a virtual waiting room for online bookings that will help our website perform at its best when an extremely high number of customers are making bookings on the website. Customers will be placed in a first-in, first-out waiting room only when website traffic volumes are above normal. We are introducing a virtual waiting room to ensure website stability during high demand periods, when our website traffic volumes to our site are above normal.
How does a virtual waiting room work?
You will only experience the virtual waiting room for the website or app when you are making bookings in high demand times. Once you have entered your city/terminal ‘Leaving from’ and ‘Going to’ locations, and the date you will automatically be placed into the virtual waiting room queue. When it is your turn you will be placed back into the booking flow in order to complete your booking. If you exit the waiting room prior to your turn, you will lose your place in the queue.
This will not impact customers who are going to the website or app to look at schedules, current conditions or other important information.

Can I see schedules or current conditions when the website is experiencing higher than normal traffic?
Yes. The virtual waiting room is only activated when making bookings during times when we’re experiencing higher than normal web traffic.
How will this make my booking experience better?
Customers retain their spot in the queue and will know their estimated wait time and place in line. The introduction of the virtual waiting room improves website stability, especially during high traffic periods.
