Busy BC Day Long Weekend Ahead
Lower Mainland – Vancouver Island Routes
July 31 – August 3, 2026
BC Day long weekend is the busiest weekend of the year for ferry travel on the coast. Our major routes between the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island are expected to be at or near capacity for vehicles during peak times.
Be prepared for sailing waits if you have not made a booking in advance of travel. Depending on arrival time, there may be limited or no space available for drive-up vehicles. Before heading to the terminal, check Current Conditions for the latest sailing and capacity information, and Service Notices for operational updates.
If your travel plans are flexible, consider taking transit and travelling as a foot passenger. Walk-on bookings are available on our major routes at no additional cost and are recommended to help secure your preferred sailing.
Please disarm your car alarm for the duration of your sailing, if you are travelling with a vehicle, as a courtesy to our crew, fellow passengers and pets on board. Check your owner’s manual to do so. Additional BC Day long weekend travel tips can be found here.
We look forward to welcoming customers on board and appreciate everyone’s patience as we work through this busy long weekend.
