Depart Vancouver, taking BC Ferries from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay (Victoria). On your way, you'll pass the spectacular Gulf Islands and arrive in plenty of time to visit some of Victoria's many attractions, amongst them Butchart Gardens, the Royal BC Museum and the Empress Hotel.
Spend the morning sightseeing, then drive north on Highway 1 over the spectacular Malahat Drive, with its commanding views of the surrounding countryside. Continuing north, you'll pass through scenic beachside communities.
Continue north on the Island Highway (Highway 19) passing through Campbell River, the Salmon Fishing Capital of the World. Further on, you'll drive through pine forests to reach the village of Port Hardy in the evening.
This morning, board our nothern vessel for a daylight cruise up the spectacular Inside Passage to Prince Rupert. On this world-class travel experience, you'll sail through calm inlets, evergreen-covered islands and majestic coastal mountains on this remarkable voyage. Overnight Prince Rupert. Around Prince Rupert
This morning, take the 30-minute drive to Port Edward for a visit to the North Pacific Cannery Museum, a national historic site. In the afternoon, visit the Museum of Northern British Columbia with its priceless collection of First Nations artifacts. Overnight: Prince Rupert
Day6.
Prince Rupert to Smithers
Turn east on Highway 16 passing through the Skeena River Valley en route to Smithers, the mid-way point between Prince Rupert and Prince George. This is an ideal base from which to explore the surrounding countryside by car, horseback, by boat or on foot. Overnight: Smithers
Day7.
Smithers to Prince George
East to Prince George, overnighting at a campground or lodging establishment. Overnight: Prince George
Day8.
Prince George to Williams Lake
Prince George south on Highway 97 to Williams Lake, the centre of "Cariboo Country." Overnight:Williams Lake
Day9.
Williams Lake proceeding along Highway 97
Proceed south along Highway 97, the old Cariboo Wagon Road. Perhaps stop and discover true western hospitality at guest ranches along the way.
Day10.
Whistler/Vancouver
Finish the circle tour by returning to Vancouver via Highways 97 and 1, or extend the trip by taking Highway 99 from Lillooet to Whistler, British Columbia's renowned luxury resort, and then to Vancouver.
