Online Reservations, Mid and North Coast Routes

Please review the important information provided below, then select the online reservation request form that meets your needs. For assistance, call 1-888-223-3779. If you're contacting us from outside North America, call 250-386-3431. Your online reservation will be processed within 48 hours of receipt.

Full payment is required at time of booking. You will receive a full refund if you cancel more than 30 days before your departure date. If you change or cancel your reservation within 30 days of booked travel, service fees of $30 will be applied ($15 for Queen Charlotte Islands service).

CHECK-IN TIMES:

For our Port Hardy-Prince Rupert and Prince Rupert-Skidegate routes, the recommended check in time is 90-120 minutes in advance of the sailing. Reservations unclaimed 90 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time will be cancelled.

For travel from Port Hardy or Prince Rupert to a mid-coast destination, the recommended check in time is 2.5 hours before scheduled departure. Reservations unclaimed 2 hours before sailing will be cancelled.

From the mid coast to Port Hardy or Prince Rupert, plan to be at the terminal 90-120 minutes prior to departure. Reservations unclaimed 60 minutes prior to the scheduled sailing time will be cancelled.

Commercial vehicles should check in 3 hours prior to sailing time. Reservations unclaimed 2 hours prior to the scheduled departure will be cancelled.

Hostled vehicles and Commercial Drop trailers should check in 4 hours prior to sailing time. Reservations unclaimed and unpaid 3 hours prior to the scheduled departure will be cancelled. Commercial load plans must be faxed to the Prince Rupert terminal a minimum of FIVE hours prior to scheduled departure for all Queen Charlotte Island reservations.

MEDICAL SUPPORT WHILE TRAVELLING:

Passengers with medical conditions should consider the length of voyage and remoteness of location when considering travel. Although BC Ferries personnel are trained in emergency first aid, there are no trained medical personnel on board. Passengers should advise the Chief Steward of any serious medical condition when boarding the ship.

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • There are no public pay phones on our Northern vessels
  • The M.V. Northern Adventure has only 220 volt electrical outlets. An adapter is required in order to use most (110 volt) North American electrical gear. Use of laptops is not recommended in cabins even with an adapter.
