Horseshoe Bay Terminal
Transfer Deck Life Extension
January 2 – early June, 2024
As part of our ongoing commitment to ensure the safe operations of our terminal facilities, BC Ferries will be carrying out necessary work to extend the life of the elevated concrete parking and loading ramps at the Horseshoe Bay terminal.
Between January 2 and early June, 2024 customers and nearby neighbours will notice work happening on the underside of these structures including the installation of steel beams (shoring), and netting. No major operational impacts are expected.
To mitigate traffic disruptions, construction activities will take place overnight between the hours of 10:00 pm and 5:00 am, Monday to Saturday. There is a possibility of increased noise levels during these times, however, all efforts will be made to minimize any impacts to our neighbors.
Additional work is anticipated to start in July to complete spot repairs on the concrete. More information will be provided on the timelines and potential impacts of this work via service notices as plans are established.
We will continue to update this Service Notice with information on any changes to the shoring and netting work as it progresses.
