Please note that in most cases, you are required to notify BC Ferries within seven days of the incident.

BC Ferries requires that all claims be in writing and contain the information specified below. (Note: we may require you to complete an Incident Report, however, you are still required to submit your claim to us in accordance with these requirements). Your claim should be mailed, faxed or emailed within the seven-day period to:

BC Ferries will only consider your claim if it is determined that BC Ferries is responsible for your property damage or injury. Our liability to you may be limited or excluded in accordance with our Conditions of Carriage.

We suggest that in all cases of damage to your own property, you contact your insurance company to arrange for immediate reimbursement. BC Ferries will not pay for consequential damages, such as loss of enjoyment, loss of business, inconvenience and similar matters that may result from an incident involving damage to your property.

If it is determined that you have submitted a fraudulent claim, BC Ferries will pursue any action considered necessary under the law.

Baggage claims are excluded from this policy.
