Travel across Howe Sound as you take the ferry to the Sunshine Coast for an exciting BC road trip. Drive along winding roads, past hidden seaside towns, rustic local galleries and shimmering ocean vistas on your way to Madeira Park. Relax at the Painted Boat Resort for a couple of days and chill at the spa or kayak through the crystal-clear waters of Pender Harbour.

Take the ferry across the Georgia Strait to enjoy the long beaches and lush forests of Vancouver Island. Drive through the Comox Valley and spend a few days embracing the carefree lifestyle and sandy beaches of Parksville.

Please note: there is a 3 night minimum stay at Painted Boat Resort Spa & Marina through the summer peak season.

DAY 1

Metro Vancouver to the Sunshine Coast

Embark on a scenic 40-minute sailing from Horseshoe Bay terminal in West Vancouver to the Langdale terminal on the Sunshine Coast. On your scenic drive to Madeira Park, you can stop to explore coastal communities and local galleries 

before arriving at the luxury full-service resort.

DAY 2

Madeira Park

Nestled among Douglas fir, red cedar and arbutus trees, the Painted Boat Resort has a distinct West Coast look and feel. Head out and explore nearby Francis Point Provincial Park, explore the coastline by kayak, or lounge by the resort's infinity pool. If you are looking to relax, step into the serenity of the on-site spa.

DAY 3

Madeira Park to Comox

Continue your driving adventure along the coastboard the ferry at sḵelh (Earls Cove) and enjoy the 50-minute crossing to Saltery Bay. Make your way to Powell River, and if you have time, stop at seaside cafés or take a short hike along Willingdon Beach

DAY 4

Comox to Parksville

Take the scenic seaside drive from Comox to Parksville. On the way, you could comb the beach in Qualicum, head inland to explore the mysterious Horne Lake Caves, or wander around Cathedral Grove in MacMillan Provincial Park and walk amongst giant Douglas firs more than 80 years old.

DAY 5

Parksville

Spend the day at the Beach Club Resort, right by the sandy beach. Enjoy luxurious amenities, such as the beachfront indoor pool and hot tub, the Stonewater Spa, and the Pacific Prime Restaurant. Take advantage of Parksville’s year-round mild climate, famous beaches, and take a stroll along the boardwalk.

DAY 6

Parksville to Metro Vancouver

Enjoy your last morning in Parksville at your own pace before heading to Nanaimo to catch the ferry back to Metro Vancouver.
