Take a scenic eight-hour day trip to explore remote stretches of sandy beaches, sea stacks, old-growth forests and sea caves at San Josef Bay, located in Cape Scott Provincial Park on Vancouver Island’s North Coast.
Tour Highlights:
- Enjoy a ride in a 15-passenger air-conditioned van, and travel along logging roads (not suitable for your average vehicle) where you can spot bears roaming in their natural habitat.
- Make a quick pit stop at the Scarlet Ibis Pub in the historic logging town of Holberg to pick up your take-out lunch box (included).
- Continue a little farther in the van to the drop-off point where you will then take an easy 45-minute hike on a well-maintained trail through ancient coastal rainforests to the breathtaking beach at San Josef Bay – the traditional lands of the Tlatlasikwala people.
- Enjoy the unspoiled and uncrowded beach, perfect for beachcombing, relaxing, building sandcastles, surfing and stand-up paddle boarding.
- Plus, see the sea stacks up close. These awe-inspiring rock formations eroded by the ocean over thousands of years.
