Horseshoe Bay Terminal
Notice of Project Work – Phase 2 Update
January to June 2022
Please be advised that BC Ferries is conducting construction work at the Horseshoe Bay Terminal to maintain various infrastructure. The work is being completed in two phases. The first phase of the project was completed on December 17, 2021.
The second phase of the project began on January 4, 2022 and is currently in progress. It includes improvements to Berth 1, and the remediation of a portion of the terminal’s rock face.
The Berth 1 upgrades are anticipated to be complete between April 5th and 8th, at which time the berth will be reopened for operation. The rock face remediation work is expected to be complete by mid June 2022.
Ongoing work will increase sound levels Mondays through Saturdays between 7:30am to 5:30pm for the duration of the project. Completion of intermittent overnight work will also be required to minimize impacts to vessel operations and to ensure the safety of our customers and employees.
BC Ferries will continue to work closely with the contractor to minimize noise. Services Notices will be updated, as required, to inform the public of any significant night work.
Traffic patterns in the terminal may be modified to accommodate the work. Customers are reminded to follow the direction of staff.
This work is required to ensure continued safe, reliable and efficient service for our customers. The modifications align with the long-term vision for the Horseshoe Bay terminal.
We apologize for any inconvenience this work may cause. BC Ferries would like to thank its customers and neighbours for their patience and understanding as we complete this necessary work.
