Horseshoe Bay Terminal

Project Update - Limited Weekend and Night Work

Commencing June 5

As per the February 12 and March 19, 2021 Service Notices, BC Ferries continues necessary infrastructure maintenance at the Horseshoe Bay Terminal.

Ongoing work will continue with increased sound levels Monday through Friday between 7:30 am to 4:30 pm for the duration of the project, and Monday through Sunday between 10:00 pm to 5:30 am during the current phase of the project, anticipated to be complete in the latter part of June.

This is necessary to complete the overnight phase of the project before the busy summer season to minimize the impact to vessel operations and to ensure the safety of our customers and employees.

BC Ferries will continue to work closely with the contractor to minimize noise, and provide earplugs for customers queuing or waiting near the areas of work.

Traffic patterns in the terminal have been modified to accommodate the work. Customers are reminded to follow the direction of staff.

The Horseshoe Bay Terminal Development Plan remains the long-term vision for the terminal. While we revisit our capital planning in light of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on our business, we will complete these critical infrastructure upgrades to ensure we can continue to provide safe, reliable, and efficient service for our customers through this terminal.

We apologize for any inconvenience this work may cause. BC Ferries would like to thank its customers and neighbours for their patience and understanding as we complete this necessary work.

Check BC Ferries’ Service Notice page for further project updates. For traffic updates, call 1-888-BC FERRY (1-888-223-3779) or check our website at
