Untamed wilderness and the majestic Peace River envelop Fort St. John, the vibrant powerhouse of opportunities in north eastern British Columbia. Located on the famous Alaska Highway, Fort St. John offers comprehensive services for vacationers, nature lovers and business travelers. 

Since its beginning in 1794 as a trading post, Fort St. John has grown directly related to the building of the world famous Alaska Highway in 1942 and the discovery of high grade oil in 1951. Both of these significant events set the City’s course as British Columbia’s oil and Gas capital.

Fort St. John has developed into a beautiful modern City that is:

- British Columbia’s most significant energy producing area
- A major agricultural centre
- Home to a new OSB Plant and expanding forestry sector
- The provincial transportation and supply hub for the north
- Supply city for Alaska Highway communities and
