Clinton's main street retains a western flavour, likely from the times it was the meeting place of the waggon roads from Lillooet and Yale. In those days the proprietors of Fourty-Seven Mile House bragged of a well-stocked saloon, great food, friendly hosts and seven rooms.
In May Clinton stages its famous Annual Ball (in connection with Clinton Rodeo), an event that's been going on since about 1867.
