BC Ferries offers a no-fee reservation system for livestock carriers travelling on our Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay, Tsawwassen-Duke Point, Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay, Horseshoe Bay-Langdale and Powell River-Comox routes.
You can make your reservation online or call us at 1-888-223-3779 and speak to one of our Customer Sales and Service Representatives. (Note: Reservations for Powell River-Comox travel can only be made by phone.)
- The cut-off time for making reservations is 2 hours prior to your selected sailing.
- A guarantee, with Visa, Master Card, American Express, or Travel Card (TC) must be provided at the time of making the reservation.
- Reserved customers must check in at the ticket booth a minimum of 30 minutes prior to the reserved sailing. Customers who do not make their check-in time will lose their reservation and will be charged a $25 service fee.
- Cancellations can be made up to 30 minutes prior to your reserved sailing time and changes can be made up to 2 hours prior to sailing time without incurring a service fee.
For the comfort of your animals, we will also do our best to accommodate unreserved livestock carriers. However, if you are travelling without a reservation, space on a desired sailing is not guaranteed.
If you are a livestock carrier travelling with a sick or injured animal requiring medical assistance off Vancouver Island and can provide verification from an authorized veterinarian, you will be given priority loading on the next available sailing regardless of whether or not you have made a reservation.
Livestock carriers travelling with non-self-contained trucks are asked to travel with and use drop sheets.
