Signing Into myBCFerries

The myBCFerries account is used to plan trips, track trips, and proactively manage subscriptions to route-specific service notices.

There are three ways to sign into your customer profile:

  1. From the Top Menu of most pages, click on Sign In
  2. From the top Right Menu, Click on My Account, then My BCFerries Sign In
  3. On the home page, bottom right, click Sign In

If you already have a myBCFerries account and want to update your profile or make a reservation in the Travel Centre sign in on the left hand side using your email address and account password.

Creating a myBCFerries Account

If you have not signed up and are creating a new myBCFerries Account, you will be presented with the initial account creation window.

This is the only time you will see this window. Future updates to your information can be performed at any time within your myBCFerries Account Contact Information page.

If you did not check off the "Yes, I want to receive email notifications from BC Ferries regarding service changes" you will be prompted with a second chance to enable service notices.

Otherwise, if you did check off the "Yes, I want to receive email notifications from BC Ferries regarding service changes" you will be prompted to choose the routes you wish to receive automated service notices for by checking the respective boxes.

Additional Details are requested. If you set your account type as Notifications Only, this screen will not appear.

Congratulations. You have now created a myBCFerries account.

Please check your email and follow the account activation instructions to complete your account setup. You must activate your account before you can save or modify reservations or receive email notifications, so we recommend you do this right away.

If not used, the account activation link will expire after 14 days and you will need to repeat the registration process and activate the newly registered account.

This step provides our BC Ferries customers with the utmost in internet security, our customer must activate their account by clicking on the link provided in their confirmation email.

If you do not receive this email, please check to ensure you have no spam blockers or mail rules that may be sorting this email into a spam or trash folders and ensure that "noreply@bcferries.com" is added to any allowed email senders list or systems that you may have in place.

Once your sign up is complete, you will be prompted to sign in as a new myBCFerries customer.

Managing Your myBCFerries Account

Once you have signed up for a myBCFerries account, you will be able to manage four areas:

  • My Reservations
  • Password and Security
  • Contact Info
  • Subscriptions

My Reservations

You can manage your active reservations if applicable on this tab and see your reservation history.

Security Settings

On this tab you can change your email address if required. Your email address is your unique identifier and how we ensure only you are making reservations within your myBCFerries account. If you change it, you will need to re-validate your account. See Changing Your Email Address below.

You can change your password on this tab. It is recommended to change your password as soon as possible if you ever have your password reset to a temporary password. Note: you do not have to enter your email address into any of the fields if changing your password, simply enter your Current/old or temporary password then enter your New Password and Confirm (your new) Password again and then click the Save button.

You can also change your Security and Account Recovery Question and/or answer here. Remember to write down the answer to your security questions.

If you forget your password the system can only email you a new one if you remember the answer to this question. If you forget the answer you will need to contact our Customer Service Support.

Contact Info

You can manage your personal information within the contact page.

When you make a reservation through the BC Ferries online Travel Centre, your profile information will populate your reservation for you.

If you change any of your contact information during the travel reservation, BC Ferries will update your profile to match your new address details.

This ensures your contact information is kept current.

Subscriptions

Your consent to receive email notifications or information from BC Ferries will be effective immediately. You can update your preferences by selecting the service notices, news releases and special offers options and clicking the SAVE button.

To unsubscribe from these notices, simply uncheck the box of the notification service you no longer wish to receive and click the SAVE button.

Forgot Your Password

On the sign in window, click "Forgot Your Password" and follow the prompts to reset your password. You must remember the answer to your security question.

If you do not remember your security answer, you will need to contact our Customer Service Support.

If you do not receive your temporary password email, please check to ensure you have no spam blockers or mail rules that may be sorting this email into a spam or trash folders and ensure that "noreply@bcferries.com" is added to any allowed email senders list or systems that you may have in place.

Changing Your Email Address

You can change your email address on the Password and Security tab. You will also need to select the "I understand..." conditions and click the Save button to initiate the change.

Note: Changing your email address does not affect your password. Your password will always remain the same until you change it or ask us to reset it.

Once you have initiated the Change Email request, BC Ferries will immediately sent you a Change Activation Request email.

If you do not receive your Change Email confirmation email, please check to ensure you have no spam blockers or mail rules that may be sorting this email into a spam or trash folders and ensure that "noreply@bcferries.com" is added to any allowed email senders list or systems that you may have in place.

Your account will continue using your old email address until you confirm using the Change Email confirmation email.

This step provides our BC Ferries customers with the utmost in internet security, you must activate your new email address by clicking on the link provided in the confirmation email.

Once your activation is complete, you will be prompted to sign in using your new email address.

If you do not confirm the change, the activation link will expire in 14 days and you will continue using your old email address.
