Supported Browsers

The bcferries.com website was built to provide a consistent customer experience in the following internet browsers:

Internet Explorer 7 and 8
Firefox 4
Safari 4 and 5

Further testing of website functionality has been completed in these additional browser versions with no issues reported:

Firefox 5, 6, 7
Google Chrome 14, 15, 16
Opera 11



Internet Explorer 9 – Reservations and Schedules

When accessing our Reservations and Schedules tool, IE9 can lock in a "busy" state, effectively freezing the browser. We are working on a fix for the problem. For now, if you experience a browser freeze, simply follow the directions below.

Recovering from a locked session:
Use the right button on your mouse and click anywhere on the page. This simple action will unfreeze the browser and make the reservations tool active again.

Or Try clicking outside of your browser window at a clear space on your system desktop.



How to Determine Your Browser Version:
1. Open your favourite browser

2. Look for the menu bar (usually the top bar in the browser window)

3. In the menu bar look for a menu item starting with "About" and then the name of your browser (e.g. About Internet Explorer or About Safari). 

On recent browsers this is often accessed by selecting the menu icon that looks like a sprocket or wrench. 

Browsers with a Menu Bar showing will often have the "About" menu item located under the Help menu item.
