In 2003, a new parking system was introduced to BC Ferries' major terminals, which are privately managed by Robbins parking on Vancouver Island and Imperial Parking on the Lower Mainland.

The system addresses traffic congestion when customers are leaving the terminals and enables customers to pay in advance by keying in their parking space number and remitting the appropriate payment.

Thanks to BC Ferries' customers for their feedback on the new parking system. As a result, both Robbins and Impark have made a number of changes to simplify and improve the system.
