Our most sought after positions are listed below. In order to be considered, you must possess the following job specific qualifications.

Deck: Deckhand

  • Marine Emergency Duties certificates (Parts A1, B1, B2)
  • Physical ability to climb ladders, handle ships' lines and move heavy objects
  • Working knowledge of safe work practices and seamanship
  • Ability to respond safely, effectively and expeditiously during an emergency
  • Preference will be given to applicants with previous deckhand experience
  • Preference may be given to applicants holding a Restricted Watchkeeping Mate's or higher certificate
  • Will be required to produce a valid Seafarer's Medical Certificate

Deck: Licensed Positions

  • Certificate of competency (STCW95 Endorsed)
  • Restricted Watchkeeping Mate Endorsed (or higher certificate)
  • Ability to respond safely, effectively and expeditiously during an emergency
  • Will be required to produce a valid Seafarer's Medical Certificate

Terminal: Terminal Attendant

  • Valid driver's license and driver's abstract
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects on a continuous basis
  • Ability to operate and maintain terminal equipment and machinery
  • Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather

Terminal: Ticketing and Cash Handling

  • Ability to process large volumes of cash and transactions quickly and accurately
  • Ability to respond positively to a busy environment, take necessary action as required and set priorities to meet time constraints
  • Preference may be given to those applicants possessing extensive cash handling experience

Catering: Catering Attendant

  • Physical ability to perform a high volume of activities, with dexterity and strength, for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to respond safely, effectively and expeditiously during an emergency
  • Preference may be given to applicants with:
    • Food Safe Certificate (HACCP)
    • Serving It Right Certificate (a training program from the Province of BC)
    • Superhost Certificate (a training program from Tourism BC)
  • Will be required to produce a valid Seafarer's Medical Certificate

Catering: Cooks

  • Cook's trade qualification
  • Ability to respond safely, effectively and expeditiously during an emergency
  • Previous cooking experience in an industrial setting
  • Will be required to produce a valid Seafarer's Medical Certificate

Reservations: Customer Sales and Service Representatives

  • Excellent speaking, listening and interpersonal skills
  • Energetic, enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • Previous experience with Windows-based computer software applications

Administration: Clerical

  • Ability to operate computerized office equipment
  • Preference may be given to applicants with at least two years previous clerical experience or who possess certification in business administration

Engineering: Engine Room Assistant

  • Experience with machinery or proven mechanical ability
  • Preference given to applicants with diesel engine training at the pre-apprenticeship level
  • Ability to respond safely, effectively and expeditiously during an emergency
  • Will be required to produce a valid Seafarer's Medical Certificate

Engineering: Licensed Positions

  • Certificate of competency (STCW95 Endorsed)
  • Fourth Class Engineer, Motor certificate (or higher certification)
  • Ability to respond safely, effectively and expeditiously during an emergency
  • Will be required to produce a valid Seafarer's Medical Certificate
