TYPES OF EMPLOYMENT
Candidates who are hired as Seasonal Employees are employed for a specific period of time to complement regular staff levels during busy periods.
Most new employees at BC Ferries are hired on a casual, on-call basis. Casual employees are required to be available, on-call, as required, with no guarantee of minimum hours. Most positions involve shiftwork. Casual assignments are frequently given with short notice; therefore casual employees usually reside within driving distance of the geographic locations at which they are employed.
Permanent jobs that are open to the general public are posted on our company website under "Employment" and in newspapers, trade magazines or internet employment websites.
